Created for Care is a ministry to adoptive and foster moms started in 2011 by my good friend Andrea. After bringing her son Isaac home from Ethiopia she began to realize that the moms she had known and spent time with before didn’t really know how to relate to her new parenting journey. Adoption and foster care bring with them so many unique highs and lows and sometimes, as parents, the journey can feel lonely. So Andrea decided to invite a handful of moms to a small weekend retreat where they could connect, learn, rest, and be refreshed. God had even bigger plans, though, and that idea for a weekend with 20 moms turned into the first Created for Care retreat with 250 moms and moms to be! Since then the team and the vision has grown. Created for Care now holds two annual retreats with each one maxing out at 450 women. And in the fall of 2015 Created for Care will have their very first marriage retreat! I am so honored to be a part of this team of incredible women. I joined the ministry in 2013 as a sometimes speaker, web manager, and A/V technician for the events. It’s been a joy and a blessing to serve along side some of my closest friends to not only bring nourishment to moms in the trenches, but also to receive it myself. I hope I see you at our next event!
The Carry Camp a ministry dedicated to loving and empowering women who might feel broken, left out, and even useless in their struggle with infertility. It’s about encouraging each other to walk in the light and the truth of who we really are: beautifully created in the image of a God who loves us and wants to use us and our stories for His glory. We’re about making His story our story and finding purpose from our pain. It’s about extracting the precious from the worthless and sharing it with the world. We seek to equip women right where they are and provide a place of refuge that brings peace and restoration. Yes, we have all shared in the cup of suffering but seek to live fully + bravely in our true identity: beautiful daughters of the King. The Carry Camp started in the hearts of myself and three dear friends. We each have experienced the heartbreak of infertility and found purpose in our pain. So we created this ministry as a way to reach out to those whose lives have been touched by infertility. We have our first annual retreat coming up in October 2015.
