For a couple of years I’ve toyed with the idea of writing an ebook. (You know, to distract me from actually finishing the proposal for my other book.) Two years ago I ran a series on my blog for National Adoption Month and as a part of that series I wrote a short post explaining how we funded our adoptions. I was shocked by not only how quickly that post took off, but also by the continued attention it has received over the last two years. I continue to get comments on the post and receive emails from people with follow up questions or to simply thank me for writing it.
That post, while informative, is very short. I know it helped spark some ideas for the reader, but it also left a lot more questions. So I stopped toying with the idea of writing an ebook and just decided to go for it! How to Fund Your Adoption: Dispelling the Myth That You Can’t Afford to Adopt will release on December 1st and I’m so excited with how it’s all coming together!
I’d love to have your help choosing the cover design! I have a little voting contest running on Instagram and Facebook right now. You can leave your votes in the comment section here as well!
I’m leaning toward the one with the piggy bank as it has a more professional/clean look to it. It brings attention to the focus of the book, which is saving and raising funds. The other cover is special because it’s an image of my sweet boy and it personalizes the book. It brings attention to the secondary focus of the book (adoption.) I’ve had several suggestions to use this image as an author photo or back of the book. I really like that idea!
With all that said…. what are your thoughts? Stay tuned for more updates! I’ll be sharing new website just for the book and other announcements/sneak peaks soon!
